Odessen, GFFA; Wednesday Afternoon FT. [08/24].
Libby had been a little bit worried, that her being out in space now would interfere with her plans to facetime Kurt while he was off at his old Academy for the break week, but she'd noticed Summer had been on her phone while they were there an awful lot, and she'd assured Libby that there shouldn't be a problem, and if there was, to go see her, because she would easily hook her up; apparently, she was connected not only to Fandom's universe right now, but also another completely different one, and said she did stuff like this all the time! So that was reassuring for Libby as she went to find a quiet spot where she could set everything up, taking a few moments to check how she looked in a mirror and trying to adjust herself accordingly, before swiftly reprimanding herself for vanity and reminding herself that it shouldn't matter how she looked, why was she even concerned about that?
She was just excited, to talk to Kurt and, most of all, to tell him where she was, because she didn't get the chance to tell him about her new plans for the break week before he left. She couldn't wait to see the look on his face!
So, with a deep breath and a hope that it would work, and then abruptly stopping herself when she realized she was smoothing out her hair and her skirt again, she looked to her phone and went to pull up the app and pull up Kurt's number.
[[ mostly for Kurt, but can definitely be open for other calls, texts, or anyone else there with her on Odessen after that, and NFB for distance, too, obvs! ]]

He looked down at the phone as it vibrated on the table in front of him and his face lit up when he saw it was Libby calling in for their facetime chat. Kurt picked up the phone and glanced around. There were a few people in the dining area that morning still.... but it shouldn't be too bad.
With a grin Kurt punched the button and grinned when he saw Libby.
"Hey, Libby! Can you hear me ok?"
no subject
"Hey, Kurt! I can hear you great! Can you hear me alright? I'm a little worried about the connection, you'll never guess where I am right now!"
no subject
Kurt noted that he didn't quite recognize the background where Libby was at. But that didn't mean much.... she was probably in her room or one of the other common rooms he hadn't been to yet.
"So, where are you?" he asked, his curiosity really piqued now.

"I'm on another planet!" she gushed out, eyes wide and head shaking, still scarcely even able to believe it, even after a few days. "In a whole different galaxy! Miss Beniko invited me and a few others out here to her home! I've been learning all about hoe they use technolgy and the Force to heal people! It's incredible!"
no subject
"Really?" he said when he finally was able to say something. "That is amazing Libby! You definitely are having the more exciting week off between the two of us!" he added with a laugh.
Just then a somewhat gruff voice could be heard from off screen.
"Hey don't be insulting our training sessions like that kid."
Kurt glanced away from the screen for a moment and gave a wave like he was trying to shoo someone away.
"Who you talking to anyway? Classmate?'
"Yes, Logan... it's Libby" Kurt said with a sigh, almost resigning himself to the fact that this wasnt going to be as quiet and private a call as he had hoped.

But the voice to the side made Libby instantly curious, albeit more than a little sheepish, feeling a little heat rushing into her face. Her smile went quite a bit apologetic (maybe she'd caught Kurt at a bad time?), especially since she really couldn't help but ask, "Oh, is that your friend Logan?"
He'd mentioned Logan so much, after all, how could she not want to know more?

Logan gave a laugh as he leaned over so he could get in view.
"Nice try fuzzy elf. Like I'm going to miss the chance to meet your girlfriend."
Kurt gave an exasperated sigh and blushed enough it just might be enough to actually be seen as he gave an apologetic smile to Libby.

She stopped, cleared her throat, steadied her phone and her composure. Tried again, this time with her own apologetic smile for Kurt.
"Er, um....hello, Logan. I've, uh, heard a lot about you. I'm Libby."
Obviously.
"It's, uh, nice to meet you."
Excuse her a moment while she maybe went to go just fling herself out into the stars now....
no subject
"Nice to meet you too, little lady" he said, ignoring Kurt's insults.
"Good to see Fuzzy Elf is hanging out with some young folks at last!" Logan laughed and gave Kurt's already wild hair a ruffle. "You picked a good one here though," he said jerking a thumb in Kurt's direction. "I can vouch for the kid" he added as he gave Libby a wink before dipping out of view.
"Blödhammel..." Kurt said again shaking his head once he got the phone back.
"S....sorry about that," he said, giving Logan a ok you can go now look as he did.

Not that Libby had any idea what he was saying, of course. All she knew was that it hardly sounded charitable.
(Although that might just have been the German in general).
"I..." she slightly stammer out, wide-eyed. "I can call back later," she offered, somewhat helplessly, "if now's not a good time..."
no subject
"It sounds like you have an exciting time ahead! How long are you there for?"
no subject
"Just to the end of the week," she told him, with a small nod, a small smile to go with it. "I'm pretty sure we'll be back for the welcome picnic. I hope so, anyway. I'd hate to miss it, even for outer space."
There was a somewhat awkward pause before she added, "How are things going for you over there?"
no subject
Kurt considered what Libby had said and gave a small smile.
"Will definitely miss you if you dont make it back. But you will have so many amazing things to tell me about that you get to do and see up in space! I think I might be able to forgive you for missing this weekend," he said with a laugh and a playful wink.
no subject
"Oh, it's been amazing, Kurt! Everyone's been so nice, and I'm learning so much! I'm really grateful that Ms. Beniko thought to invite me. It's definitely not anything I'd have ever imagined doing!"
no subject
"It's something amazing and exciting that you are getting to do. I'm so happy for you Libby! It's something that not even many of the X-Men get to say they have done."
There might have been a tiny little twinge of envy there but Kurt wasnt going to begrudge his best friend such an amazing experience.
"You will have to tell me all about it! I hope you get to take some pictures too!"
no subject
Libby didn't even know what that was!
"Maybe you'll get the chance to come out to space, too, one day, though," she offered encouragingly. "There's lots of people from there, after all, isn't there?"

Never mind that the totally could and likely would be! Details weren't important.
"I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in space! And will be looking for you at the picnic or at least the first class we have together!"
